This page provides some information regarding the cookies released. First of all, general information on cookies is provided, preparatory to understanding the extensive information we provide as data controllers.
While browsing a site, you can receive cookies on your terminal that are sent from the site visited (first parties) or from different web servers (so-called "third parties").
Cookies are used for different purposes: performing computer authentication, monitoring sessions, storing information on specific configurations regarding users who access the server.
The Guarantor for the protection of personal data in its Provision on the matter of 8 May 2014 identified two macro-categories:
– Technical cookies are those used for the sole purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network, or to the extent strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the contractor or user to provide this service" (see art. 122, paragraph 1, of the Code). They are not used for other purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or manager of the website. They can be divided into:
- Navigation or session cookies, which guarantee normal navigation and use of the website (allowing, for example, to make a purchase or authenticate to access restricted areas);
- Analytics cookies, assimilated to technical cookies when used directly by the site manager to collect information, in aggregate form, on the number of users and how they visit the site itself;
- Functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate according to a series of selected criteria (for example, the language, the products selected for purchase) in order to improve the service provided to the user.
For the installation of these cookies there is an obligation to provide information pursuant to art. 13 of the Code, while the prior consent of users is not required.
- Profiling cookies are instead aimed at creating profiles relating to the user and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences expressed by the user when browsing the internet. Due to the invasiveness they may have in the private sphere of users, European and Italian regulations provide that the user must be adequately informed about their use and thus express their valid consent (see art. 122 , paragraph I of the Code).
