LichtYam powder

InDustit is the simplest mode to control and dose. Even in this format there are no availability problems. It can be added to any drink (hot or cold) except alcohol obviously. It is very hygroscopic (it fears humidity) and therefore tends to agglomerate when immersed in liquids. It must be dissolved with "energetic" spoon work. Even in powder form it can be used, as in other forms, added to dishes and soups. It is slightly thickening and therefore should be taken into consideration when using it.

As regards the doses to be taken, an accurate discussion can be made for the Powder as it is easily and accurately dosed. Furthermore, in this format, the presence of water has been almost completely eliminated. Usually the recommended dose is half a teaspoon per day. With time, observation of the reactions obtained and depending on the problems you want to attack, everyone will be able to increase or decrease the dosage according to their needs. There are no problems with overdose. The recommended half teaspoon is a sufficient amount that, if taken regularly, can meet most needs.

Dioscorea Batatas __LichtYam™

Introduction
WE HAVE A LIGHT SHORTAGE!
Many of us work entire days in environments illuminated by artificial light; food and meat from animals that have been kept in the dark; taking medicines that have been synthesized from derivatives of "dark" coal, instead of taking natural remedies that originate from flowers and fruits soaked in the Sun and much, much more. Even worse is the lack of “inner light”. This is the area where LichtYam™, a cultivar of dioscorea, most helps.
Dioscorea Batatas, LichtYam™, was characterized by the spiritual research of Rudolf Steiner as the element capable of storing Etheric Light in its tuber and making it available to the human organism when ingested.
Rudolf Stainer has clearly specified that the etheric Light will be indispensable for future generations (i.e. those from him onwards). That the health and normal functions of the human body are closely related to ambient light is beyond any discussion but it seems that it requires an "internal partner" to communicate with in order to function correctly. One of R. Stainer's major insights was that the human body actually produces light in some of its organs. But this spiritual process needs help to function. This collaboration between internal and external light is crucial.
The Light “illuminates”. It is no surprise that in Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dioscorea is credited with “enlightening the intellect and extending life.”
(It is recognized that patients recover sooner and more lastingly if rehabilitated in bright, sunny rooms).
Light is also a central and determining factor of the Circadian clock. It is his primary Zeitgeber or “time giver”. It's no surprise that a healing plant that essentially brings light into the body is so important.
But light doesn't just give rhythm, it activates and blocks hormones and other physiological events. Even simple botanical observations show that plants increase cell reproduction at night but form structure and strength in sunlight. Light from structure!
Suddenly it makes more sense to remember that Traditional Chinese Medicine ascribes to Dioscorea an astringent quality, an ability to "hold everything together" where it is." These are nothing but hidden qualities of Light.
We are just starting to discover the benefits of LichtYam™. The fact that modern scientific research adds further details that go in the same direction is even more surprising.
Description of the plant
Batatas dioscorea, also known as Mountain Grass in Chinese, can grow wild in hills and valleys but can also be intensively cultivated for human consumption. It is a sinuous, climbing, perennial plant with long tubers that can reach a meter or more underground. The flowers of the plant are both male and female and both male and female plants must be grown if seeds are needed. Flowering is between July and September. The leaves are opposite to each other. The small white flowers have a pleasant cinnamon fragrance.
Yam is a climber that supports itself by leaning on other plants. It can be grown effectively near bushes or simply cultivated like any production root, with supports or nets like beans.
The inside of the tuber is white. The tuber can be cut and cooked. It has a pleasant taste and is reminiscent of potatoes. Yam slices can be added to soups or fried, pureed or gratinated. The root contains approximately the
- 20% Starch
- 75% Water
- 0.1% vitamin B1
- 10-15 mg% of vitamin C
There is much confusion about the correct name of the species. Some reports indicate that Dioscorea Batatas is not a valid name that is often used incorrectly applied to two distinct species. D. opposita and D. japonica. The “Chinese Flora” accepts D. batatas as a synonym for D. polystachya.

The “Light Metabolism” and the Circadian Clock .
It is clearly understood, but little observed, that the human body responds acutely and profoundly to light impulses from the environment.
Any attempt to interfere with an established 24-hour day/night cycle (e.g. travel across time zones, shift work, etc.) will result in profound disturbances in psychological health (jet-lag), decreased hand-eye coordination , and more.
The ways in which these influences came from are better understood today. Light travels through the eyes and is conducted by cones and rods of the retina, via particular nerve fibers, to the back of the brain, the visual cortex. Other, completely different nerve fibers run from the retina to a relay station above the hypothalamus, called the Suprachiasmatic Nucleus (SCN). These anatomical findings may explain why for many blind people, the circadian clock may be controlled by light and dark cycles. It is believed that while light pulses cannot reach the visual cortex, sufficient light pulses can reach the SCN so that the 24-hour cycle rhythm is maintained. From here the impulses are transmitted into the rest of the human body to all the appropriate organs. Ultimately, these pulses influence specific genes in the cell nuclei that initiate processes that are in sync with the 24-hour cycle. One can view the genetic mechanism as a method of conserving light. Every cell in the body seems to have an implicit relationship with the 24-hour – day/night cycle although all these “clocks” are synchronized in order to allow the body to function harmoniously. In contrast, every single cell is programmed to have a deep connection with light.
Surprisingly, the Light self-builds the substrate to function in the physical body. Substances such as Dioscorea Batatas that can transport Etheric Light into the human organism help us respond strongly to light, regulating the circadian clock, supporting rhythmic functions and all those organs that depend on them.
Coincidentally, there appear to be many more light receptors in the body that are still poorly understood. For example, in 1998 researchers at Cornell University Medical College found that changes in the human circadian system can be caused by light stimulation at the back of the knee. The phase of change was comparable to those obtained by eye stimulation. However, unfortunately, these findings have not been replicated by other work in the field.
John Palmer indicates that more than 100 years ago it was discovered that the impulses of the kidneys are rhythmic. At first it was thought that it was due to the fact that people do not drink or eat while sleeping, however, after the beginning of the last century, it was discovered that the frequency and volume of urination persisted even when people were kept in bed all the time day and fasted or behaved indifferently through the day and night. Clearly the kidneys receive messages relating to the day/night cycle.
Surprisingly, operations on mice showed that in addition to all this, the success of kidney transplantation from one animal to another is related to the time of day it is performed. Rodents are animals well adapted to darkness so it is not surprising that animals that received kidney transplants at night survived three weeks while animals transplanted in daylight rejected the transplant in less than four days and died as a result of the process.
Each organ has its own vital clock. This can be inferred from a study of 25 people who received a kidney transplant from another person. Experimental data shows that after a while, each kidney began to operate based on the rhythm of the donor from which the kidneys originated!
Most physiological processes in the body are connected to the 24-hour day/night cycle.
Some examples are shown below:
1 AM Start of most spontaneous work
2 AM Best sleep
3 AM Lower blood pressure
3 AM Peak Skin Repair
4 AM Most common natural birth time
4 AM Lowest body temperature
5 AM More intense dreams; higher cortisone secretion
6 AM Increased insulin secretion
7 AM Increase in blood pressure greatest of the day; angina heart attacks, collapses. Elevated testosterone in men; high sexual desire in men.
8 AM Melatonin release finished
9 AM Lowest body weight
10 AM Peak mental performance
2 PM Better eye/hand coordination
4 PM Peak lung function (defined as greatest amount of air exchange per minute.
3-6 PM If healthy this is the best time for physical exercises
7 PM Highest body temperature
8 PM Alcohol is tolerated better; Best sports performance (swimming, walking)
9 PM Blood pressure begins to decrease; Melatonin secretions begin

Similarly, disease processes have their ups and downs in the 24-hour cycle:
1 AM Increased risk of gallbladder attacks
2 AM Increased chance of heartburn and seizures
2 AM Greater risk of cardiac deficiencies
4 AM Greater risk of errors in night work
4 AM migraines and clusters begin
4 AM Asthma attacks peak
5 AM Car and truck crash risks peak; toothache starts
6 AM Peak colds and hay fever
7 AM Peak of arthrosis and rheumatic pain
8 AM Peak nosebleeds
9 AM Peak depression
12 PM Increased frequency of rupture of stomach ulcers
4 PM Peak tension headache
6 PM Peak pain from fibroids pain; peak osteoarthritis symptoms; peak fatigue due to multiple sclerosis; cholesterol level increases
8 PM Back pain peaks
9 PM Menopause hot flashes more frequently
11 PM Maximum reactivity to Asthma conditioners
11 PM allergic reactions tend to increase; Peak of restless legs syndrome
12 PM Peak skin irritability and itching
Again, the question is: can the 24-hour day/night cycle be stored? The doubts relating to this question were dispelled by an elegant experiment carried out at the University of Geneva. It was first demonstrated that a connective tissue cell line, which had been in culture for 30 years, essentially in the dark, could demonstrate a 24-hour cycle pattern of gene expression. The leading research was able to induce this 24-hour cycle of gene expression simply by treating cells in culture with serum. In some unclear way, the ingredients in the serum initiated a 24-hour cycle oscillation in the cells' gene expression. This rhythm fell to zero after a short while but was induced again with a subsequent intake of serum. This and, later, experiments on liver and heart cells have undoubtedly determined that every single cell in the human body can have a 24-hour cycle and that all of the body's "clocks" can be coordinated to give a general pattern that is physiological to the body.
Disturbances of the circadian clock and its consequences
Traveling across different time zones and suffering from jet lag is a well-known consequence of circadian rhythm disruption.
A more widespread and negative influence of the day/night cycle is changing or rotating work shifts. The practice of alternating three shifts at weekly intervals is equivalent to traveling through 6 to 12 time slots in the blink of an eye. It has been estimated that 20% of the active workforce in industry is involved in shift work. Immediately after an eight-hour shift change, productivity decreases and accident rates increase. It has been estimated that shift change-related deaths and injuries in the United States amount to approximately $1.5B per year. In addition to these negativities, as well as poor product quality and an increased frequency of accidents, there is growing absenteeism, high employee turnover and increasing illnesses. Tired workers do mediocre work, complain more, and lack creative energy at work and at home. Divorces in families with children have increased three times or more if the wife works at night and six times as much if the husband also works at night.
In an animal experiment, this trend was confirmed by observing that when blowflies were subjected to six-hour shifts in a light/dark cycle environment once a week their lifespan was reduced by 20%.
By introducing a light force-stabilizing food into the human body, it can potentially restore the light/dark rhythm and provide an additional explanation as to why dioscorea was known as a “life-prolonging medicinal herb” in China.
Anthroposophical Aspects of the Metabolism of Light and Ether of Light
(The comments below imply some familiarity with the spiritual and anthroposophical researches of Rudolf Steiner)
We don't usually talk about "light metabolism" in today's scientific language. Its importance becomes obvious when we consider that R. Steiner also calls the Etheric (or life) LIGHT BODY. Clearly without light there would be no life. Even more important than water, plants would not be able to produce organic substances without light, and without plant products there would be no animals or humans.
However, the central aspect overlooked by conventional science is that no external stimulus can be processed by the body without a specific spiritual activity taking place within us.
No light could be used unless there was an Ether of Light within to process it. In fact, when there are disorders in the body that affect the eyes, or caused by medicines, or excess toxins, etc.... ambient light can even be poisonous/toxic. Photosensitivity in some cases of Lupus is well known. Light invigorates both body and soul. Too little of it is recognized as a cause for depression, lack of vitamins, especially vitamin D, and much more. A balance is absolutely necessary. External light is necessary but “internal light” is equally crucial.
According to R. Steiner, when thoughts are observed on a spiritual level, they appear as formations of light. As we will see later, memory is in fact, according to various scientific spiritual research, a reaction that refers to variations in the Ether of Light. In fact, one of R. Steiner's most important spiritual exercises for esoteric development is to practice "seeing" in one's imagination the after image, the complementary colors, of an impression received on the external part. A great help for this exercise is to remember that of the three primary colors - blue, red and yellow - the complementary color of each of them will always be a combination of the other two. For example the complementary color of red and the combination of blue and yellow which is green. “Seeing” complementary colors is an exercise in activating and perceiving internal spiritual light that works in unison with external light.
Structure light. During the night the plants have a high cell division while during the day under sun exposure they form structure, definition and consistency. The same principle applies to the famous phenomenon that mountain plants are more "defined" while plants living in humid areas have a frequent tendency to "disunite". This intuition can give useful indications regarding current health problems. It is not difficult to imagine that a lack of "internal light" manifests itself externally with a tendency to obesity and inflammation. Finally, the same failure to maintain the light process can contribute to the widespread phenomenon of degenerative maculation in older people. This may also be an explanation for the fact that approximately 100% of the populations of Northern and moderate areas of the earth have an established lack of vitamin D and why the recommended daily dose of vitamin D is constantly increasing. Without a correct "light metabolism" the transformation of the vitamin D precursor to its active form D3 does not occur correctly. The need to have nutritional plants that have a high affinity with the etheric world was one of the main reasons that pushed R. Steiner to give indications for a new form of agriculture known as Biodynamic Agriculture. In them, many are a radically new form of organic spray, for example a compound based on quartz dust is sprayed during hot summers on wheat fields in order to help the wheat retain more heat and Light Ether . It would take us too far off topic, in the context of this compendium, to discuss in greater detail all the substances in the body that are connected to light processes such as phosphorus, magnesium, quartz, etc... but it will be done in a different context soon. One of R. Steiner's most important discoveries (see comments below) is that the human organism not only has the ability to process light but actually produces light de novo. But in order for these processes to take place on a spiritual level they require the assistance of adequate nutrition and adequate spiritual activity in an appropriate environment. Here we begin to see the enormous importance of R. Steiner's observations regarding the ability of Dioscorea Batatas to conserve Light Ether in its tuber.
Below are numerous sources relating to R. Steiner's research on light and the Ether of Light.
Comments by R. Steiner on the Ether of Light
Comments by R. Steiner on the Dioscorea Batatas
R. Steiner's comments, central to our considerations, occurred in the early 1920s, probably in conjunction with the Agriculture course of June 1924. This course determined the foundation of the biodynamic agricultural movement (Demeter). At that time, a student asked whether given all the suggested changes and their implementation they were sufficient to help man most completely. Surprisingly, R. Steiner commented that no would not be enough and that it would be necessary to cultivate plants such as Dioscorea Batatas, a plant which he characterized as native to China and capable of retaining Light Ether in its roots. It would have been necessary to acclimatize her to the West. In a separate conversation, R, Steiner drew a curve that starts high in Asia, moves horizontal to the ground in Europe and then drops below the ground when it reaches America. Steiner said that these are the power levels of the Ether of Light (not the rays of the sun.

They come from the cosmos and are most powerful in the East, where plants gather them high up. In Europe they move parallel to the ground and in the West they bend and enter the subsoil where they are transformed into electricity. People will need this type of food that Light Ether can provide and therefore it will be necessary to acclimatize these plants in Europe.
“This is a nutritional problem”
One of R. Steiner's students, Ehrenfried Pfeiffer, shares an interesting conversation he had with him after the Agriculture class of 1924. The question was whether detailed experiments of new agricultural preparations should first be done before introducing them to the whole world. R. Steiner replied as follows: “It is of extreme importance for the whole world that the blessing of all new agricultural preparations be made on large portions of land so that the Earth can be cared for and the nutritional qualities of the fruits of the fields can improve to a significant level. This is where everyone's attention should be. The experiments can come later." It was apparently hoped that the proposed changes would be adopted immediately.
The comments above are better understood when you consider the context in which these comments were made. In his conversation, R. Steiner first of all indicated the need for esoteric study on the part of people and commented on the lack that existed in the entire spiritual movement. Pfeiffer later asked: “How can it be, Dr. Steiner, that contrary to your numerous indications regarding the esoteric path there is so little spiritual impulse in individuals and how can it be that spiritual manifestations are realized so miserably in them? In particular, how can it be that contrary to theoretical understanding, the will to do, the successful unfolding of spiritual impulses in the real world is so weak?” Pfeiffer was particularly concerned with getting an answer to the question of how one could build a bridge to the facts, to actively work and carry all those spiritual intentions without being distracted by personal vanities, illusions and jealousies. These were three negative factors, specifically cited by R. Steiner, as essential blocks to higher understanding. Next came R. Steiner's surprising and memorable response: “This is a nutritional problem. The way nutrition is constituted nowadays does not give people enough strength to transform spiritual manifestations into facts. The bridge between "thinking", "doing" and "acting" can no longer be built. Nutritional plants no longer have the strength they should have and give to people." This was consequently a nutritional problem whose solution will still give people the ability to realize their spiritual and worldly manifestations. Given these considerations, we understand why R. Steiner wanted the blessing of biodynamic preparations on large portions of land so that the Earth and people could be healed.
From a conference of 9 November 1923:
Metabolic processes ultimately result in the burning of Carbon into Carbon Dioxide. This Carbon Dioxide is mostly expelled, with the breath, from the lungs but in the process the physical event is accompanied by a subtle etheric event. Carbon is not only burned into Carbon Dioxide but in the burning process Ether of Light is formed which, according to R. Steiner, rises into the head, the senses and the nervous system allowing the human being to receive cosmic impulses and more. This Light Ether must also continuously permeate from the eyes so that we can see and receive Light Ether from outside. We are therefore indebted to Carbon for providing the Light Ether within us which enables us to come into contact with the external Light Ether.
From a conference of 12 April 1921:
The etheric body of man is made up of four ethers: etheric heat, etheric light, etheric chemical and etheric life.
The light and etheric heat flow mostly from the head down to the other organs, while the ether of life and the chemical circulate mostly from below, from metabolism, upwards. The light ether has mostly organizational, drying, structural abilities while the ethers coming from below are more softening for the organism and deeply involved with functioning.
From a conference of March 24, 1920:
R. Stainer discusses the subtle transformation processes of light when it reaches the skin, the natural boundary that man has between the outside world and himself. At the moment of crossing this border into the light a metamorphosis occurs. This means that man not only transforms the common, ponderous (heavy) processes of external nature into his own interior, but also the “unweighted” elements. The Light itself. It changes it to something different. We must pay close attention to this fact: the human being, by virtue of being human, has a continuous supply of stored and transmuted light. This is necessary for its organization. If the reciprocal processes implemented between man and the external sunlight do not occur appropriately, his body is deprived of transmuted light, as in the case of emaciation, the body loses fats that it needs. And in this case the man is faced with the dilemma of forcing the upper part of the body to become diseased or depriving the lower part of his body of what it needs. All this results from the deprivation of transmuted Light.
In summary: human organization does not only require ponderal substances derived from the external world but also transformed, imponderable etheric substances that result from these metamorphoses. These basic principles show how light needs can be managed. On the one hand we can expose human beings directly to sunlight. This will satisfy the need for ambient light. But on the other hand we must administer substances inside that remove the deficit of transmuted light.
From a conference of March 31, 1920:
In this lecture, R. Steiner makes, probably, one of the most unusual revelations that are the result of his spiritual research. He explains that one of the most crucial differences between human and animal organizations is that humans have the ability to be “creators and producers of original light”. This creation of light occurs particularly in connection with the transformation of Carbon into Carbon Dioxide and occurs primarily in the organization of the Kidneys. This internal light process needs to work together with the influence of external light. In the organization of the Eyes this joint work occurs in close collaboration, while in other areas the external light must be kept separate from the internal light. In essence, therefore, the role of external light is to stimulate the production of original, new Ether of Light within the organism.
From a conference of 3 April 1920:
The March and April 1920 conferences were given in a course for doctors. It is even more surprising to see the introduction that R. Steiner gives at various conferences. At one point he remarked that he was told, by very knowledgeable people, that these would be the most difficult conferences they had ever attended. R. Steiner confirmed that the details given during these conferences would not have been easy to digest.
In this lecture he introduces it with a comment that sometimes someone accused him of presenting an inaccurate and confusing spiritual science but at other times he was accused that the direct ways used to present spiritual realities betrayed ancient mystical secrets. In these words we begin to get a sense of the importance of the spiritual insights he gives us regarding the physiological functioning of the human body. In this particular conference he describes how vision, the organization of the Eyes, is in fact prolonged within the body in a sort of scaffolding that the human ego has to hold itself together at all times. This scaffolding can dissipate and cause residual fragments in the etheric body, a process that results in the well-known phenomenon of Inflammation.
From these observations we can understand the importance of maintaining a correct organization of the Eyes in the body, in relation to the Ether of Light, as we have repeatedly understood is responsible for many structures and order in the organism.
Traditional Chinese Medicine
Chinese Yam is classified as neutral and sweet tonic. The main uses are indicated above. It is used in many combinations with other herbs.
