Dettagli

The author's "Spiritual Testament" which talks about the incarnations of Rudolf Steiner, Christian Rosenkreutz and Manu and their spiritual and historical characteristics.

Bernard Lievegoed considered this book as a "farewell" greeting and defined it as his spiritual testament.

In the book he talks about all the incarnations known to him of three great guides of humanity: Rudolf Steiner, Christian Rosenkreutz and Manu, also describing the characteristics, the human, planetary and cosmic meanings, the historical and personal implications of the spiritual currents which these three guides report to.

“What is a spiritual current? A spiritual current is connected to the evolution of humanity as a whole. This evolution is guided by high hierarchical entities. In pre-Christian times it was these divine entities that had this guiding task completely in their hands; in Christian times they progressively handed over leadership into the hands of men themselves."

"These leaders of humanity act actively, alternating or acting in groups, in the service of the evolution of humanity. It is now our task to seek connection with those leaders of humanity from whom the most important impulses currently come. We need the knowledge of who they are and how they operate if we want to be able to stand up to the dark forces that, according to Rudolf Steiner, around the year 2000 and after, will act with full power.

Anyone who looks around the world today sees that these forces are already in action. "...these leaders of humanity... are normal men. Not only must they be born, but they must learn to speak, be educated and so on because, to what they have to bring they must give the dress of their time. They must be totally "at home" in the civilization in which they operate.

This means that subsequent incarnations of these guides can often be very different from each other. In one type of civilization their work takes on a completely different character from that in another." "Lievegoed... has always appealed to man's ability to surpass himself.

This book sends the same message: don't consider your joys and sorrows only as personal matters, but try to see them as an expression of something universally human. At the meeting point between the personal and universally human elements, what many yearn for during their lives, even if unconsciously, can be achieved: the metamorphosis of personal impulses into universally human impulses.

In this respect "On the Salvation of the Soul" can be considered an encouraging book that personally addresses every reader.

"In the book... strategies, spiritual struggles, battlefields, powers of the obstacle appear represented: these images strongly determine the character... of the whole book in general."
