UNTREATED MARLEY SUNFLOWER
Dettagli
This is an open-pollinated variety, so since it isn't a hybrid, it can be propagated from seed on the farm, taking care to select plants in the center of the field. It's recommended to sow selected seed every 2-3 years. It produces more than one inflorescence; we recommend removing the secondary ones, allowing the main one to grow. A hardy plant with a good oleic acid content. Flowering lasts about 40 days, and its genetic characteristics make it ideal for bees.
Due to its rapid growth and its ability to contain weeds, it is also ideal as a green manure.
Sowing: late March to mid-May. Plant density: 30,000-35,000 plants per hectare.
Planting distance: 70 - 100 cm between rows, 30 - 40 cm along the row.
Seed rate: 6 Kg/Ha.
Estimated average organic production: between 1400 and 1800 kg/ha.
