Gnosis is one of the most complex esotericisms that have appeared, as it did not manifest itself in a real initiatory school, but was made up of "various gnoses", mystical-intellectual movements often very different from each other, united by a few traits, including the profound spirit-matter dualism (and all the antinomies that can be traced back to it, such as light-darkness, evil-good and so on), a salvific eschatology and also community life.
When it merged with Christian teachings, it was immediately considered heresy and ferociously persecuted to the point of annihilation.

Alessandro Benati Born in Bologna where he lives and works, after his scientific studies he deals with information technology. For many years he has studied the works of Rudolf Steiner and the Masters of Tradition, with particular interest in the historical, philosophical and scientific aspects. Since 2014 he began holding conferences and informative seminars on the fundamental themes of Anthroposophy.
