KOBERTWITZ 1924: THE BIRTH OF BIODYNAMIC AGRICULTURE - A. VON KEYSERLINGK
Dettagli
The Farmers' Course, one of Rudolf Steiner's major impulses, transmitted by a now weakened body, was certainly the most difficult, the most profound undertaking accomplished by a great spiritual guide, this Enlightened One of modern times. An impulse born in the iron heart of Europe, so that in those crucial times the being of the Earth, its "heart of gold", could best inspire all the forces of Heaven.
We hope that the, so to speak, "sacred" character that this text spreads awakens in us a greater sense of responsibility towards the Earth, warms our hearts a little more, comforts them: the solution has been given, we hope that lighten our enthusiasm a little. Now everything can be done, or rather must be done. But in absolute freedom.
Biodynamic agriculture, this name will be adopted only later with the union of the organic and the dynamic, was born during Pentecost 1924 in the castle of Koberwitz (currently Kobiercyce) south of Wroclaw, the current city of Wroclaw, in Silesia : here, from 7 to 16 June, a conference was held to answer questions from farmers and agronomists. The audience, 130 people according to Johanna Von Keyserlingk, 60 according to Ehrenfried E. Pfeiffer, was mainly made up of farmers and owners of large agricultural estates.
It is no coincidence that Rudolf Steiner wanted to hold this course on a 12,000 hectare farm, a clear sign that this new agriculture was aimed at and studied not only for small farms but by every farmer who cares about the life of the Earth.
