The future of the human being is intimately linked to the future of the machines he has created. The ancient, very clear distinction between the human body and the technical systems that surround it is becoming increasingly blurred and will eventually be completely erased. In the near future, human souls will incarnate into half-man, half-machine hybrid entities. Certainly, much has been written about the fusion of human intelligence and machine intelligence, as the computer industry invents ever new ways to bind humans more intimately to the Internet. However, today's intelligent machines are nothing more than a transitory form of one of the three types of technology of the future. Even the most apostolic visions of cyberworld gurus such as Ray Kurzweil or Henry Markram seem old and derisory when compared to the grandeur of the prospects revealed by Rudolf Steiner's spiritual investigation of the future.
