MARABEL

Variety of German origin, selected since the nineties, it lends itself very well as a packaged product or for peeling. The shape of the tuber is quite attractive with excellent culinary qualities. In favorable pedoclimatic conditions, quite high yields can be obtained. Ideal soils must be fertile with good water availability. Within the crop rotation, a rest period of at least four years is recommended. Soils with a high risk of spraing (ferruginous spotting) must be avoided. Adopt a fertilization plan in relation to the results of the soil analysis. As regards the three macro elements, namely nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, follow the standard criteria. To obtain slightly higher yields, increase the investment density and the nitrogen supply. The variety adapts mainly to flat and slightly hilly areas.
