MONALISA

Variety of Dutch origin, selected since the 1980s. Characterized by a very attractive skin, it is used as a multipurpose variety, suitable for long storage. Regular in size and shape, it has a good tolerance to blackening of the pulp. Adopt a fertilization plan in relation to the results of the soil analysis. Distribute 10% more nitrogen than other varieties of the same vegetative cycle. Apply approximately 2/3 of nitrogen during pre-sowing and 1/3 during earthing. As regards phosphorus and potassium, follow the standard criteria. The variety has a medium-long dormancy, the best quality is obtained in fertile and light soils. Choose soils that are not susceptible to common scabies. It is advisable to carry out a treatment against Rhizoctonia. The use of the herbicide Metribuzin is recommended in pre-emergency, in case of post-emergency a lower dosage is used. With risk of common scabies, water the crop at the beginning of tuberization; the irrigation itself favors a more uniform product with better cooking quality.
