The phacelia is an annual plant with an upright habit that reaches one meter in height. A honey plant, the flower produces high quality pollen and nectar that is very attractive to bees.
Excellent for green manure, as it releases large quantities of nitrogen into the soil. It also has a weed control action thanks to the release of particular chemical substances.
Spring and late summer sowing. In the first, greater flowering is obtained (approximately 60 days after sowing) which lasts over a month. The second, having good flowering, is more suitable for green manure. Phacelia seeds do not germinate if they remain on the surface, therefore they must be buried at about 3-4 cm.
