POTASSIUM SILICATE
Dettagli
Composition
Potassium (K2O) | 10.49% |
Silicon (SiO2) | 23.50% |
Density Well | 35 |
Viscosity 20°C cps | 100 |
pH | 11.5-14.0 |
Characteristics
Completely water-soluble aqueous solution of potassium silicate. Indispensable for all mineral treatments, especially for log paste. Silicate forms a hard inorganic film on plants; It therefore hinders the activity of parasites with poor mobility and has a preventive action against insects that pierce the cuticle of leaves and fruits. It also has a physiological mechanism of action linked to the absorption of silicon which causes both a hardening of plant tissues, increasing their resistance to parasitic attacks, and the induction of resistance with the production of phytoalexins. It is now commonly used as a replacement for sodium silicate to avoid the addition of sodium to the soil.
Culture | Methods and doses of use |
Horticultural | 0.5-1 kg/hl during the crop cycle |
Fruits, vine, olive tree | 1-1.5 kg/hl in vegetation 2-3 kg/hl for brown |
Tree crops | 2-3 kg/hl brown treatments (paste for logs) in association with mineral powders |
Tips for correct use
Potassium Silicate combines chemically with glass. Avoid spraying on glassy surfaces (tractor windows, glasses, watches, cell phones, etc.).
