SQUARROSO CLOVER - ORGANIC
Dettagli
It is widespread in some areas of central and southern Italy; further north, although good resistance to cold is reported (down to -10 °C), the crop is often seriously damaged by frost.
Squarrose clover - Trifolium squarrosum Savi
Botanical characters
It has characteristics and possibilities of use very similar to those of the red clover, from which it is distinguished by its larger size, greater desire and the yellowish-white or red flower.
Environmental needs and cultivation technique
The sowing time, the cultivation technique and the harvesting time are those already described for the red clover.
Variety and use
Production is significantly higher, being able to reach 40-50 t/ha of grass in cultivation, possibly no later than flowering due to the coarseness of the stem.
